CHRISTOPHER SHAXTED, Executive Vice President, brings a level of experience to Lakewood Real Estate Solutions that is broad-based and deep. Son of a noted architect, Mr. Shaxted learned about home design early and developed a passion for the business. He began his career as a Senior Project Manager at Ahmanson Developments in the 1980s and provided financing to major developers, locally and nationally. He evaluated business practices, observed winners and losers, and achieved an insider’s perspective regarding real estate management. He went on to hold senior positions at major real estate companies based in downtown Chicago as well as in the suburbs. Mr. Shaxted served as Vice President of Cambridge Homes where he helped develop new products, managed marketing and sales, and increased profits and grew annual sales making Cambridge the largest builder in Chicago. His experience also includes serving as President of Westfield Homes, quickly turning the company’s operating losses into profits. Mr. Shaxted joined with Buz Hoffman in the late 1990s as Executive Vice President of Lakewood Homes. Benefiting from a career involving deep experience within all aspects of the industry, Mr. Shaxted participated in Lakewood’s growth as it became a top Chicago-area builder with annual closings beyond 1,700 units and profits higher than industry averages. Mr. Shaxted is valued for his ability to develop proprietary systems for competitive analysis and pricing as well as inventory management. He’s experienced in boosting efficiency while enhancing buyer satisfaction. Mr. Shaxted has overseen construction and sales of more than 20,000 homes and has consistently delivered a 97 percent customer satisfaction rate, based on independent research. He is LEED accredited, an Illinois Real Estate broker, and a member of the Urban Land Institute, where he has served as a speaker and panel member.
